杨新平，男，汉族，河南省许昌市人，大专文化，生于1949年8月23日，1969年参军，1970年加入中国共产党。现为中国当代著名毛体书法家、国礼艺术家和中国国宾礼艺术家、中国楹联学会书法艺术研究会副主席和书画美术院教授、中企报盟(北京)信息科学院副院长、国家高级书法师、中国互联网联盟外联部主任、北京心海文化艺术研究院终身院士和高级研究员、董必武学会分会会长、中原毛体书法院主席、河南省建设文化协会许昌书画院院长、中国首批向国际推荐的优秀华人艺术家，全国第一批非物质文化遗产创新人才。
杨新平爱党爱国，热爱毛主席，一颗炽烈的感恩之心，一腔对伟人特别深沉的景仰之情，激发着他，努力钻研毛体书法,更深层感知伟人崇高精神境界，并执着发扬光大，为弘扬红色传统文化、促进文化繁荣作出了突出贡献。他有军旅生涯,心田驻有浩荡精神,这股精神，也强劲激励着他的书法创作，退伍不褪色，把军人的豪气、骨气以及对党的情怀融入书法作品之中，形成了自己潇洒之中见沉稳、豁达之中求雄强的书风。他以毛体挥洒心性,以隶书恪守品格,作品的技艺与精神双双达到了艺术化境,紧贴传统,不失自我,研墨执笔，一出手便是龙腾虎跃,势如奔水,这种于笔端蕴藏大气的书体, 可谓是深得毛体精髓。

Yang Xinping is now a famous contemporary calligrapher of Mao’s style in China, a national present artist and a state guest present artist in China, Vice Chairman of the Calligraphy Art Research Association of Chinese Couplet Society and a professor at the Calligraphy and Painting Academy of Chinese Couplet Society.
Yang Xinping loves the CPC, China, and Chairman Mao. His great gratitude and deep admiration for the great men inspire him to study hard on the calligraphy of Mao’s style. Deeply perceiving the lofty spiritual realm of great men, he persists in carrying forward their lofty spirit, making outstanding contributions to carrying forward the traditional red culture and promoting cultural prosperity. Used to be a soldier, he has a mighty spirit in his heart. This spirit also strongly inspires his calligraphy creation. Having the soldier’s spirit even after leaving the army, he integrates the soldiers’ heroism, backbone and love for the CPC into his calligraphy works, forming his calligraphy style which is both free and calm, open-minded and powerful. He shows his mind with calligraphy of Mao’s style and adheres to his character with the official script. His works have reached the artistic level in both skill and spirit, keeping close to the tradition without losing self. His works are powerful like leaping dragon and tiger and rushing water. This kind of majestic calligraphy has the essence of the calligraphy of Mao’s style.
